Magyar Up Privacy Policy

Magyar Up is made by RailsSquad OU. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Magyar Up iOS app.

The short version

Your learning data stays with you: on your device and in your own iCloud. Magyar Up has no accounts, no email sign-up and no passwords. We don't sell data and we don't track you across apps or websites.

Data stored on your device

• Your profile name and a salted hash of your 4-digit PIN.
• Your course progress, scores, mistakes, notebook entries and settings.

If you're signed in to iCloud, the app also stores a copy in your private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit) so your progress comes back on a new device. Only you can access it; we can't read it. Deleting a profile in the app deletes its iCloud copy. You can turn iCloud for Magyar Up off in Settings › your name › iCloud.

Microphone and speech recognition

The speaking assessment and speaking games use your microphone. Speech is converted to text by Apple's speech recognition on your device to check your answer. We don't record, store or send audio.

On-device AI

On devices with Apple Intelligence, Magyar Up uses Apple's on-device model to create extra exercises from your progress. This runs entirely on your device.

Anonymous usage statistics

Magyar Up may send anonymous usage statistics (for example, which screens are opened and whether a session was completed) to Amplitude, hosted in the EU, so we can improve the app. These statistics use a random identifier, are not linked to your name, and are never used for advertising or tracking.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details; the app only checks with Apple whether you own the trial or lifetime unlock.

Children

Magyar Up is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your learning data is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud, you control it: delete a profile in the app to remove it from both. For questions about anonymous statistics, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR, contact us.
